The sweet spot for home turntable enthusiasts on a budget seems to be the $200 mark. This might be the best of the bunch.

One can only imagine the sake-fueled club hopping that led to the development of the Seiko Frequency drum machine watch.

Retro Gaming: Hotter Than Ever

Sim City 2000Tom's Hardware posted an interesting article about Retro video gaming last week. While modern games are shiny works of art, vintage games offered simplicity and novel game play. As the article suggests:

"Almost all retro games come with a simplicity factor and in these days of high stress, busy lifestyles, this is proving to be a major contributory factor in more and more folks "turning retro." Retro titles are also much quicker to load, they make great party games after a few beers and - the most significant factor of all - they don't require the player to sit and read a novel-like manual before playing."

My favorite retro site is Abandonia; a fantastic collection of forgotten software that is no longer marketed. Many of the companies that produced these titles are extinct and their ownership is in limbo.
