The sweet spot for home turntable enthusiasts on a budget seems to be the $200 mark. This might be the best of the bunch.

One can only imagine the sake-fueled club hopping that led to the development of the Seiko Frequency drum machine watch.

XGameStation: A Modern Vintage Game System

Xgamestation
The XGameStation is a modern console development system that encourages coders to design old-school video games. Brilliant idea, but definitely a niche market.

FroggeeFor $199 you get the XGameStation Micro Edition powered by an SX52 microcontroller along with documentation, software, cables, and what looks to be a vintage Atari joystick. The XGS software-controlled graphics system works in much the same way as the Atari 2600 and the Apple II, enabling the same strange chroma-shift effects. To create new games you'll need to get yourself up to speed on SX assembly language and classic coding techniques.

Those without the background (or patience) can easily download numerous games and wicked-looking demos for the platform.
