The End Of Suburbia
By James Grahame
A friend encouraged me to watch The End Of Suburbia on the weekend. This 77 minute documentary takes a look at how North Americans have invested much of our wealth into the development of a unique suburban lifestyle.
The video examines the role that affordable oil had in our expansion into the countryside, and how we might be at risk as oil becomes more expensive. This is a thought-provoking film, whether or not you agree with its premise.
It's available on DVD but has aired on PBS and several networks in Canada. Worth checking your local listings, just in case.
