The sweet spot for home turntable enthusiasts on a budget seems to be the $200 mark. This might be the best of the bunch.

One can only imagine the sake-fueled club hopping that led to the development of the Seiko Frequency drum machine watch.

Paya Hermanos Model 970 Tin Car

Paya tin car
I mentioned Paya tin toys several months ago. The Spanish company was founded in the early 1900s and produced a variety of truly beautiful toys. They were briefly resurrected in the 1980s and produced some nice reissues of their classics.

This is a 1986 reproduction of their Model 970 sports car from 1930. The best thing about it is the great big wind-up key that plugs into the side, of course. These reproductions are becoming rare, so it's good to see one that comes in the original illustrated box, along with the big Paya key and a numbered certificate of authenticity.
