If you've ever found yourself lusting for a tiny tube guitar amp, look no further. Z.Vex offers the quirky 1/2 Watt Nano Head. It's perfect for practicing and, believe it or not, recording. If you've ever tried to mic your favorite amp to get good tone, you'll know that you often have to crank the volume sky-high. That can make it difficult to mike effectively, since many mics just don't like being subjected to a jet-engine roar at 130+ dB.
Because the Nano Head is so small, its sweet spot is at least 20 dB quieter than a traditional 50 Watt amp head. That makes the levels easier to handle, and you're less likely to get death threats from your neighbors. Each Nano Head features a hand-painted case and likes to be kept in a warm place (the amp circuit has problems starting up below about 65 degrees F). Z.Vex also makes a crushingly weird selection of hand-painted effects pedals and a brilliant little stereo tube amp, too.
