The sweet spot for home turntable enthusiasts on a budget seems to be the $200 mark. This might be the best of the bunch.

One can only imagine the sake-fueled club hopping that led to the development of the Seiko Frequency drum machine watch.

Pinhole cameras from Korea

Pinhole cam
Red Camera is a Korean company that offers a broad range of unusual cameras, including several pinhole cameras from Pinhole Art. The most affordable wooden model is the 29,500 Won Pinhole 135-Lite ($31, shown above with the back off). It comes as a complete flat-pack kit that even includes glue (come to think of it, their instruction sheet resembles something from IKEA). Thankfully, Red Camera features construction photos on their site, just in case your Korean is as dodgy as mine.

If you'd prefer something ready to shoot, check out the slightly more elegant PinholeArt 135. It sells for 169,000 Won ($178) and looks beautifully low-tech. [thanks to James Chung for providing the info for this post!]
