Massive Star Trek auction at Christie's

Christie's auction house is gearing up to auction off over 1,000 Star Trek props, costumes and models valued at over $1.5 million. The collection is being sold by CBS Paramount Television Studios to cash in on celebrate the 40th anniversary of the franchise. Highlights include a "Borg Alcove" model, the captain's chair from the Enterprise E, and this wonderful collection of alien pistols from Deep Space 9 that's expected to collect between $800 and $1200.

A two volume catalog set is available for $90 and die-hard collectors might be interested in squandering their kid's lunch money on a $500 limited edition box set.
