View-Master 3-D Trivia Quiz
By bohus

There was a day when a company could survive just making one product - in this case View-Master. I've always been bewitched by 3D viewers like View-Master, especially the reels of historic and scenic places. Today we might think of View-Master as a toy, but it has tremendous educational power as well.
So I imagine that in 1984 a marketing expert came along and said, "Ya know what? Ya gotta get a piece of this Trivial Pursuit thing!", and View-Master's answer was this 3-D Trivia Quiz board game. Aimed at children, you roll the dice and are dealt a question out of the trivia book. The categories are linked to one of the seven View Master reels included in the set, the questions pertaining to the images in the viewer.
The game is well thought out, especially in how to include different aged children in the same game. Each question has an easy version and a more difficult version aimed at older kids. It's nice to see a levelling of the playing field so that all number of children can all join in on game night.
Two things I especially like about the game are that the octahedron die is listed on the back as being "unique" (can't argue there...), and the game is set up for 1-4 players plus a quizmaster. Since the game is a little too easy for grown-ups, it's nice to also have a role for a nearby adult. Besides, who hasn't dreamed of being a quizmaster? I didn't get my teeth capped for nothin'!
