This classic game was originally written in BASIC by the late Gregory Yob sometime in the very early 1970s. It circulated through universities and research facilities, and I first encountered it as a kid in the classic 1979 tome "MORE BASIC Computer Games."

Rod McFarland's modern web-enabled version lets everyone try their hand at the hottest hide-and-seek computer game of 1972. Give it a try, but don't underestimate the danger lurking beneath that ominous green phosphor text.
