Citicar

efftee writes, "Check out this auction I just stumbled upon for a 1975 Citicar. Looks like something out of Logan's Run. Seems reasonably priced too..."

About 2,300 CitiCars was produced between 1974 and 1977 in response to the OPEC oil crisis. It had a top speed of around 50 mph and a maximum range of 40 miles per charge - fairly impressive for a vehicle with a 3.5 HP motor powered by 48 volts from a stack of eight lead acid batteries. More importantly, it's street legal and just begging to be modded with modern technology. As I write this, it's at $2,550 with 4 days to go in the auction.
