Friday Afternoon Furniture
By James Grahame
My wife doesn't let me buy furniture. I don't know why, because I think I have provocative taste. Check these out and tell me what you think. The £623.00 Two Hand Sofa (above) is advertised as "popular with kids and adults alike." It strikes me as a tad too gropy for all but the most intimate of grown-up visitors. [More after the jump, if you're brave enough]
The Body on Wheels is apparently "Upholstered in a sumptuous suede like fabric." Destined to be a conversation starter. Or perhaps its a conversation ender. Worth the £305 price tag to find out, isn't it?
If you're feeling regal, how about your very own throne? Featuring "tactile sumptuous fabric," the Swivel Crown Chair comes in red, blue, pink, and orange. Hopefully not all at the same time. Yours for a mere £282.
This is the chair that started my search. All I wanted was an affordable and attractive old-school pod chair. Honest.
Not exactly cheap at £447, but it has a soft leather interior (don't we all?) It also has casters so you can roll around your mansion without every having to step out of your cocoon. Perfect for eccentric billionaires and agoraphobics everywhere.
