Few people have heard of it, yet many consider John Blankenbaker's KENBAK-1 to be the first commercial personal computer.

3D Doodle Kit

3D doodles Remember those red and blue cardboard glasses you had to wear to watch 3D horror films at the local theater? Me neither. I'm too young, which is probably why the 3D Doodle Kit fascinates me so.

"The 10.5cm compass style instrument allows images to be drawn in duplicate red and blue lines which must be a small but constant distance apart. This has the effect of lifting the design off the page and giving it depth when viewed through the special 3D glasses provided."

Unfortunately, Andreas K. reports that things aren't quite so well-rounded in reality: "A great idea, but a shoddy realization. As far as I can tell, the blue pencil doesn’t work at all with the blue filter in the glasses. At least I can’t get it to work at all. With a little luck I’ll find a replacement pencil soon though."
