Few people have heard of it, yet many consider John Blankenbaker's KENBAK-1 to be the first commercial personal computer.

Satellite Controlled Nixie Clock

Nixiechron clock

All of a sudden I'm spotting Nixie clocks everywhere. This one's not extremely new, but the NixieChron is a rather nice-looking example of its species that includes a GPS Satellite link. The clock's mental well-being is ensured because it always knows where it is, give or take a meter or two. The GPS receiver also guarantees that the display time will be accurate to a fraction of a second. Just be careful to talk to it in soothing tones before moving it to a new location, or it will sulk for weeks.

And-- most important -- the NixieChron is really shiny. Which is important when you're hunting for the perfect holiday gift for yourself. $499 direct from Resonant Instruments LLC.
