Few people have heard of it, yet many consider John Blankenbaker's KENBAK-1 to be the first commercial personal computer.

Cox Action Van - Toy Car Runs On Real Gas!

Cox_action_van

With gas costing what it does these days, car manufacturers are forced to find way to make their cars smaller and more efficient.  This isn't a new idea, since here's a REALLY mini gas guzzler from the 70's.  Granted, this one is only just big enough for GI Joe and Big Jim to go on a camping trip (the less said, the better I think...).

You may know Cox as a manufacturer of model planes that used real gas engines.  In the 70's, they popped that technology into this plastic van.  Instead of radio control, you could "program" the van by inserting plastic discs that would steer the car the way that you wanted.

I'd love to play with one of these things.  I really want to know how loud it was, and how much it reproduces the kind of smells that came out of 70's custom vans.  Let's face it, pretty soon this is going to be the only kind of gas powered car any of us will be able to afford to fuel up.
