Incredible Lucite Wersi Organ Isn't From the Seventies

I'm always amazed how quickly cool gadgets are passed around the Net. Of course, silly things like fact-checking get tossed out of the window when there's a pretty picture to share. A case in point: this rather stunning clear Wersi Delta DX 500 organ that's currently listed for sale at Modern One as "made in 1970 by Wersi."

In reality, this digital instrument dates from the late 1980s (note the LCD display on the top left side of the panel). It features MIDI, 24 digital rhythm sounds and microprocessor control that was the stuff of science fiction back in 1970. Of course, none of this changes the fact that I'd love to have this cheesy transparent beast as the centerpiece of my secret mountaintop castle/studio/spaceport.
